Meshell Announces New Album, Premieres First New Song, “Conviction,” with Paste

Following her 2012 release, Pour une Ame Souveraine: A Dedication to Nina Simone, Meshell has announced her new album, Comet, Come to Me, will be released June 3. The first single, “Conviction,” premiered with Paste.

Meshell’s 11th studio album features special guests Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) Detroit soul-funk player Amp Fiddler, Laurel Canyon psychedelicist Jonathan Wilson and Texas blues rocker Doyle Bramhall, along with long-time collaborators Christopher Bruce (guitar) and Jebin Bruni (keys), and Earl Harvin on drums. The album is available in Meshell’s first ever web-store, along side her signature “Fellowship” bass.
